Ordering

How to get a pie.

16", thin and crispy, out of an apartment oven onto a steel. One per customer, because there is one oven. Every drop goes up on Hotplate with its day, pickup window, menu and prices — and it often sells out the day ordering opens.

The pies

The usual line-up.

These turn up most drops, but pies come and go and prices change. Hotplate has exactly what's on the current drop.

Cheese — a 16-inch thin-and-crispy pie, browned at the crust

Cheese

The classic plain pie - tomato sauce, pecorino romano, mozzarella. Sixteen inches, thin and crispy, like everything here.

Where to start

Pepperoni

Crispy cup-and-char pepperoni, mozzarella, pecorino romano, tomato sauce base. The cups hold a little pool of fat and that is the entire point.

Pepperoni, Ricotta + Basil — a 16-inch thin-and-crispy pie, browned at the crust

Pepperoni, Ricotta + Basil

Pepperoni, spoonfuls of ricotta and torn basil, with a side of hot honey to run over the top before the first slice.

Comes with hot honey

How a drop works

Four steps, one afternoon.

  1. 01

    The drop posts on Hotplate

Day and pickup window change from drop to drop, so the alert list exists precisely so you do not have to keep checking.

  2. 02

Ordering opens, and it goes fast

Pick your pie and a pickup time. Payment happens on Hotplate — this site never touches your card.

  3. 03

    One pie per customer

It is one oven in an apartment. The limit is what keeps the run reaching more than six people.

  4. 04

    You collect it hot

Apartment pickup in 92107, in your slot, straight out of the oven and into your hands.
